Hermann Höcherl (March 31, 1912, Brennberg – May 18, 1989) was a Nazi politician, volunteer Wehrmacht soldier and after the war German politician of the Christian Social Union of Bavaria (CSU). He joined the Nazi party in 1931;after leaving it in 1932, he rejoined in 1935. In 1942 he volunteered for Wehrmacht, with his service being in Nazi occupied Poland, and later in combat in Greece, Finland and Soviet Russia[1]
After first being elected to the Bundestag in 1961, he was Minister of the Interior until 1965 and then Minister for Food, Agriculture and Forests until 1969.
